Serious snowmobile accident in the Laurentians

Two snowmobilers were fighting for their lives on Tuesday evening following a collision with a tree in the afternoon in the Laurentians region.

The collision occurred around 4:10 p.m., near Rivière-Rouge.

The snowmobile driver probably lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a tree. The driver and passenger, two men, were both ejected.

They were then transported to the hospital, where they are in critical condition.

“We still fear for their lives,” said Sergeant Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The two snowmobilers had started their ride around 3:30 p.m. They were accompanied by a guide and two other people, all unharmed.
