Second man now charged with murder in fatal CRAB Park assault


On Tuesday, Vancouver police announced a second man had been arrested and charged in Wadden’s death. David Bentil, 18, is now charged with second-degree murder.

A second man has been charged in a fatal assault that took place in Vancouver’s CRAB Park over the weekend.

Police were sent to the Downtown Eastside park on Saturday around 10:20 am after a 45-year-old man had been assaulted.

Andrew Wadden suffered life-threatening injuries in the assault and was declared dead at the scene a short time later.

A day later, Eric Kim, 26, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

On Tuesday, Vancouver police announced a second man had been arrested and charged in Wadden’s death.

David Bentil, 18, is also charged with second-degree murder.

It’s unknown if Wadden and the suspects were known to each other. Police also have not released a specific cause of death.

Wadden’s death was Vancouver’s fourth homicide of 2022.
