Search Resumed for Swimmer Washed Downstream in the Annapolis River – Halifax | The Canadian News

First responders have resumed the search for a missing swimmer near Middleton, NS

RCMP says the 25-year-old woman had been swimming in the Annapolis River with another woman on Saturday shortly before 3 p.m., when they both encountered difficulties with the current.

A woman was able to safely return to the dock and immediately called 911.

RCMP says the missing woman was washed downstream.

The search was stopped on Saturday when it got too dark and resumed on Sunday morning.

RCMP Air Services and local fire departments are assisting in the search.
