Schools that help with shoe and sock drives

Macdonald High School in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue is collecting new or used shoes in a short time on behalf of Souls4Souls Canada , a non-profit organization that helps people in need. His goal is to collect 1,000 shoes, of any style or size, by December 25th. There will be prizes for the students who collect the most shoes, which will be dropped off in room 120 at the school.

Three schools off the island will collect socks for the Montérégie West Community Network ( MWCN ), which has a satellite office located at 117D Cardinal-Léger Blvd. in Pincourt. Edgewater Elementary, Pierre Elliot Trudeau Elementary and Soulanges Elementary will collect new pairs of warm socks to be donated to the Remission homeless shelter located in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

MWCN officials noted that homelessness is an often overlooked problem in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region.
