“SAT should have exempted the entire primary sector from fines”

The Tax Administration Service (SAT) should have exempted the entire primary sector that transports merchandise from fines and sanctions for not issuing the Carta Porte complement, and not only when they move their merchandise with their own means, said Juvenal Lobato Díaz, former president of the fiscal commission of the Employer Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex).

“They are not exempting everyone from the Carta Porte complement, as I would presume was the intention of the presentation of the Package Against Inflation and Famine (Pacic)”, said Lobato.

On Tuesday, the SAT reported that producers in the primary sector will be exempt from fines and penalties for not issuing the correct electronic invoice with a Carta Porte complement when they move their merchandise with their own means.

In contrast, the Pacic proposes the exemption of the Carta Porte to basic goods and supplies until October 1 and, if necessary, it would be extended for another period.

In other words, the non-correct issuance of the electronic invoice of the Carta Porte complement was not contemplated, nor was the exemption focused on those who transport their own merchandise.
