Saskatoon police charge two people in connection with drug trafficking investigation – Saskatoon | The Canadian News

Two people have been charged in connection with a six-day investigation into drug trafficking by the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS)’s crime reduction team (CRT).

SPS says its tactical support unit (TSU) and CRT members stopped a high-risk vehicle in block 300 of Ontario Avenue North at about 4pm on January 18, 2022.

During this vehicle stop, two men and a woman were arrested without incident and officers seized cocaine during the arrest.

Police say the TSU and CRT investigators proceeded to the 1400 block of Avenue B North where they arrested a 29-year-old woman outside the residence and served a high-risk warrant at that location. Police eventually located three people inside and who were detained, while officers searched and searched the residence. Police searched two vehicles and found cocaine in a car.

In this investigation, police seized 250 grams of methamphetamine, hard and soft cocaine, pills, fentanyl and $ 260 cash. Weapons such as bear spray, ammunition and a machete, cellphones, scales and other drug paraphernalia were also seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old man faces several charges, including drug trafficking, possession for commercial purposes and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police say the 29-year-old woman is charged with possession of cocaine for human trafficking purposes and two charges of possession of a controlled substance.
