On April 1, a Lotto Max ticket sold in Alberta was flagged as having matched all seven winning numbers for a $70-million jackpot.

The following day, a winner stepped forward and through an extensive verification process, the winner of the record-setting jackpot lives in Saskatchewan and purchased the ticket while traveling along Highway 1.

The odds of matching all seven numbers on a Lotto Max draw are 1 in 33 million per play, and the $70-million jackpot is the largest winning ticket sold by an Alberta retailer. A Calgary winner took home the second-highest ever Lotto Max jackpot of $65 million in October 2019.

The winner of April’s jackpot will be announced at a media event on April 19.
