It is the most wonderful time of year for Santa Claus to dive into taking memorable Christmas pictures.

Santa and Mrs. Claus brought out their scuba gear on Sunday for an underwater photoshoot open to anyone wanting a highly original Christmas souvenir.

Members of the Battlefords Scuba community even jumped in to join in the fun at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Center.

While some may be surprised by Santa’s unique pastime, the great man told Global News that it is his favorite thing to do besides giving gifts to children at Christmas.

The Clauses wanted to share their passion for diving and encourage more people to practice this sport.

The story continues below the ad.

“Anyone that we can get involved in scuba diving in Saskatchewan and with the Battlefords dive club is good,” Santa told reporters.

The fun did not come without its challenges, Santa admitted that it is a bit more difficult to get the children to sit on his lap underwater.

Due to the low turnout, Santa joked that North Battleford will have to compensate him to maintain its status on this year’s good list.

But then it relented.

“They’re always on the good list,” Santa said.
