Samuel García seeks to endorse an agreement with Tesla to export its vehicles through the Colombia Bridge


Monterey, NL. The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, made a work tour in the state of Texas, and visited the factory of Tesla located in Austin, to endorse the agreement for the electric vehicle manufacturer to export its vehicles and products through the Colombia Bridge.

“We have come to endorse this agreement, that all the assembly, products and all the export of cars that are made in California and in Texas (from Tesla) are going to cross the Colombia Bridge,” he declared.

The president was accompanied by the Secretary of the Environment, Alfonso Martínez, and the Secretary of Regional and Agricultural Development, Marco González, and they toured the industrial warehouse to learn about the different processes of the US assembly plant.

“Today we come to show you (the projects of) the Interserrana highway, the Periférico, the Gloria-Colombia highway, the North highway and the modernization of what is going to be the Colombian Port)the most important customs office in Mexico”, assured García Sepúlveda.

He stressed that today he realized that a company from Nuevo León supplies the aluminum that Tesla uses to manufacture its vehicles, and that “the entire electronic issue of the car, the brain of the Tesla, was installed in Nuevo León, by Quantum, a one of the largest and most important in the world.

Water care

In another order of ideas, in the morning, the governments of New Lion and of Texas They signed a memorandum of cooperation on the environment, for the conservation and care of water, endangered species and air quality.

During a work meeting at the Capitol, the Neolonian authorities announced the projects that have been launched for the conservation of the Sierra de Picachos, the Protection of the Cueva de los Bats, as well as the reforestation plans for the care of the Rio Grande Basin.

“We are going to work on maintaining the ecosystems, repopulating species that have lowered their populations, as well as protecting the soil and conserving water in both states. We are closely related in these matters, like the governor (Samuel Garcia) has said, there can be no prosperous and long-term economic development if nature is not conserved and that is why we signed this agreement,” said Alfonso Martínez, head of Environment.

They will also make an agreement with the University of Texas, so that the students of this institution can carry out environmental projects in conjunction with the government of Nuevo León.

After the signing, the president of Nuevo León met with the mayor of Austin, Steve Adlerwith whom he endorsed his commitment to seek actions that help strengthen relations between both entities.
