Russian gas deliveries to Europe fell 26.9% annually: Gazprom


Russian gas deliveries to the countries of the European Union Y Turkey fell quite a bit between January and April of this year compared to the same period of 2021, while those made to China shot up, announced Sunday Gazprom.

“Exports to countries outside the CIS (EU and Turkey, ndlr) were 50,100 cubic meters, 26.9% less than in the same period of 2021,” the state-controlled group said in a statement, without giving an explanation. .

Gazprom specifies that it will continue to supply gas “in full compliance with contractual obligations.”

The exports to China soared, gaining 60% in a year via the Power of Siberia pipeline.

In Europe, energy prices have gone up a lot, and the European Union (EU) has not yet decided to apply an embargo on Russian oil and gas.

In 2021, Gazprom recorded a record net profit of the equivalent of 28,000 million euros, at current exchange rates, thanks to a strong increase in demand for hydrocarbons.
