Russia registers more than 1,200 deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours

The authorities of Russia have reported this Sunday more than 32,000 cases of coronavirus and more than 1,200 deaths during the last 24 hours, figures practically in line with those registered throughout this week, at its worst moment of the pandemic.

In a statement, the national operational center for the fight against the pandemic has indicated that since yesterday 32,602 infections and 1,206 deaths have been added in 85 regions throughout the country. This includes 2,285 asymptomatic cases, 6.8% of those detected since Saturday, according to the balance of the official Russian news agency Sputnik.

In total there are already more than 9.8 million registered cases since the beginning of the pandemic, although this constitutes an increase of 0.33% compared to the previous day.

Most of the new infections they have been detected in the Russian capital (3,301), in Saint Petersburg (2,420) and in the province of Moscow (2,096). The total death toll, on the other hand, already stands at 281,278, of which 92 have been detected in Moscow and another 61 in Saint Petersburg.

However, 30,539 people have been discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours, so that there are already 8.5 million people who have managed to recover from the disease caused by the virus.

A total of 1.7 million people are still listed as suspected cases across the country.

As of December 3, more than 63.9 million immunization cycles (revaccination included) were completed in Russia against the Covid-19. The level of herd immunity is estimated at around 53.7 percent.
