In less than 24 hours, this hashtag was shared more than 1.7 billion times on TikTok.

“It’s times like these that you can really hear the stories of women who have chosen abortion for themselves, for their own lives, but also sometimes for their health or for their safety,” Dez said. , a user of the TikTok platform.

Samantha Royal was 21 when she had an abortion. At the time, she was in an abusive relationship and was a victim of domestic violence.

“I remember lying on the floor after being pushed down the stairs and staring at the ceiling. I asked myself “how can I bring a baby in such a situation”. I did not feel safe, I was afraid and I felt trapped,” said the young woman.

“I didn’t want to have to share this story, but I didn’t know what else to do. I am revolted”, she added in reaction to the decision of the Supreme Court.

Another TikTok user, Mélanie Berliet, shared her grandmother’s story, in addition to her own. “I think of my grandmother who drank bleach because she couldn’t afford a fourth child, and I think of how I had a safe abortion in 2014 because that the time was not the right one, ”she said.

Carole Cannon, a retiree, also wanted to add her voice to that of others by sharing her abortion story. 51 years ago, she was still just a child, but she was part of a sex trafficking ring and was regularly abused. At the time, she was only 12 years old.

“When I got pregnant it was a year before Roe v. Wade. If I hadn’t had an abortion, I never would have graduated from high school or college. I never would have gotten a bachelor’s degree in special education, I wouldn’t have gotten married, and I wouldn’t have had the chance to have children by choice,” she said.

“Thanks to my abortion, I was able to accomplish beautiful things and do good around me. I was able to inspire other people,” added Carole Cannon.

Women have not finished making their voices heard to make things happen and have their rights respected, since from hour to hour hundreds of other videos and testimonies are shared on social networks.
