Robbery and assault charges filed after a LaSalle suburban driveway fight

LaSalle police pressed charges after finding two men fighting at the entrance of a residence early Sunday morning.

Officers responded around 3 a.m. to a report of a burglary crime in progress at a home on St. Michael’s Drive. They arrived and found two adult men in a physical altercation.

The two men were separated. One had injuries to his face and head that required medical treatment.

While officers were determining what happened, a person under the age of 18 who was at the residence became involved with them.

According to LaSalle police, this individual obstructed the officers and became violent towards them, even physically assaulting one of them.

The officer was not injured.

The investigation eventually found that all parties involved are familiar with each other.

Police say the incident began when one of the men attended the residence and attempted to enter by breaking a window next to the front door.

The other man left the house and a confrontation ensued.

Since then, the man who attended the residence has been charged with burglary and assault with a weapon.

The young man who was at the home has been charged with obstructing a policeman and assaulting a policeman.

Police say there is no risk to public safety in connection with the incident.
