Motorists were asked to avoid the area after the crash left one man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A woman was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Police say that just before 10 am Wednesday, a woman driving a Toyota Matrix eastbound on 131 Avenue stopped at a stop sign at 149 Street, and “shortly thereafter” she struck a Nissan Frontier truck going north on 149 Street.

Further details about how the crash happened weren’t provided but police said the impact caused the truck to roll, eventually stopping on its roof.

The man who was driving the truck was taken to hospital.

The EPS major collision investigations section is investigating.
