Report: Prisoner in Kent Institution in Fraser Valley stabbed 40 times on Wednesday evening

BC Emergency Health Services has confirmed two ground ambulances and one helicopter were dispatched to Kent Institution in Agassiz on Wednesday after a violent assault.

In a statement, BCEHS said they responded to a call at 5:26 pm and that one patient was transported by air ambulance to hospital.

According to a report received by Postmedia News, a male victim was stabbed 40 times.

Another person at Kent Institution was taken by air ambulance out of the prison on Feb. 5, 2022, after being stabbed multiple times.

Kent Institution is a maximum security federal prison.
