The woodlands will be a major attraction for nature lovers, both Canadian and international, due to easy access from Highway 401 and close proximity to the new Gordie Howe International Bridge.

The biologically-rich main forest, Ojibway Shores and Nature Center should facilitate efforts to make the national urban park a reality.

The Public Advisory Council applauds the campaign and efforts on this by Mayor Drew Dilkens, city council, Members of Parliament Irek Kusmierczyk and Brian Masse, as well as local tourism and environmental communities.

One day soon, Windsor’s natural heritage will be a proud addition to Canada’s national parks system.

Public Advisory Council, Detroit River Canadian Cleanup
