The RCMP is working with the BC Coroners Service after a body was discovered in the North Thompson River earlier Tuesday.

The body was discovered floating in the river near the 4300-block of Westsyde Road at about 12:30 pm
An officer from the RCMP dive team was deployed to assist in the recovery, said Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of Kamloops RCMP.
“At this point it is too early to determine the nature of the incident, or whether criminality is suspected in the person’s death,” Shoihet said in a statement.
No identify has been released.
