Raptors Say Matt Devlin and Jack Armstrong Self-Isolate After Possible COVID-19 Contact

Raptors streams will look different for at least a couple of games.

Citing a “great caution,” now ubiquitous during the COVID-19 pandemic, regular player Matt Devlin and analyst Jack Armstrong are walking away “for a period of time,” the team announced Monday.

Paul Jones and Leo Rautins handled television duties for Monday’s home match against the Sacramento Kings on TSN, while Eric Smith and Amy Audibert will do Tuesday night’s game in Brooklyn from Toronto for Sportsnet.

“We recently learned that members of our broadcast team may have been in contact with an individual, outside of our organization, who has since tested positive for COVID-19,” said a spokesman for the Raptors. As a result … Matt Devlin and Jack Armstrong have decided to stay away from work and control themselves for a period of time. While this action is not mandated by the NBA, we are especially mindful of the example Matt and Jack set for so many people across the country, and we are very grateful for their thoughtfulness and responsibility. ”

After Tuesday, the Raptors are scheduled to host the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. A home match Thursday against Chicago with 10 Bulls players, including former Raptors DeMar DeRozan, Matt Thomas and Stanley Johnson, was postponed in NBA health and safety protocols.

Raptors TV analyst Jack Armstrong and play-by-play voice Matt Devlin will isolate themselves for at least the next two games after possible contact with COVID-19.
