Marc-Antoine Desjardins, who was a candidate for mayor of Montreal under the Ralliement pour Montréal party until he joined Balarama Holness’s Montreal Movement, withdrew his candidacy for mayor of the Outremont district, the city’s electoral body announced Tuesday. .

Neither Desjardins nor his party have announced why he is retiring.
