Querétaro will start 2022 with 50 investment intentions

Querétaro, Qro. The portfolio of projects, with the intention of settling in the entity, is made up of 50 projects that, if carried out, will add up to investments of 79,678.1 million pesos.

Most (33) are new investments and (17) extensions of firms already installed in the entity, explained the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero.

The five dozen projects – in force as of December 15 – would demand 37,239 jobs in the state.

“We are working very hard, they are very interesting projects that I hope to present next year,” he commented.

This year alone, the state agency reports that 32 investment projects were completed for 32,287.6 million pesos, as well as 11,207 jobs.

The automotive industry was the main investment niche, contributing nine of the 32 investments made; it is followed by the food and beverage industry with six projects.

As well as the electrical appliance, information technology and service industries, which added four projects respectively; three from research and development, two from the aeronautical industry and four more that correspond to other sectors.

Of the projects reported by the secretariat as completed, 12 were of American origin, followed by eight projects with Mexican capital, three from Korea, two from Germany. In addition to works originating in China, Canada, Ecuador, France, Hong Kong, Japan and Switzerland, with one.

Regarding the spirit of investors, in the face of initiatives such as the reform in the electricity industry, the state secretary commented that the agency has chosen to promote the benefits of the state, as one of the elements to attract investment projects.

“Investment projects have come because of what the state offers, offers certainty, offers competitiveness, offers an adequate business environment, offers trained personnel; so beyond what may happen around, we are focused on highlighting what Querétaro offers, “he said.
