Querétaro sees opportunity to export to Central and South America

Queretaro, Qro. The regions of Central and South America are attractive to place Queretaro exports due to the logistical advantages they share.

The president of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (Comce) Querétaro chapter, Óscar Peralta Casares, explained that there is great potential for local companies to enter these markets.

We have to turn down, we have a lot of faith in those markets because logistics is highly developed, there is no language issue,” he deepened.

Therefore, he urged that exporting companies diversify their markets and not only focus on the commercial relationship with the United States.

Currently, the Comce and the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu) are working on updating the database of the exportable offer in the state, due to the fact that it is estimated that 1,800 small and medium-sized companies with the potential to place their products in the state reside in the state. abroad.

In this context, 11 local companies seek to increase their participation in the foreign market, through trade programs and missions coordinated by the Private Initiative and Sedesu.

Through the strategy of internationalization of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), six local firms participated in the Expocomer Panama 2022, which took place from March 23 to 26 in the new Panama Convention Center, explained the director of the Commercial and Industrial Training Center (Cecaci), Francisco Javier Méndez.

The Queretaro companies that participated, in three stands of the state government, achieved estimated sales of up to 380,000 dollars. The expo exhibited brands of dehydrated fruits, handicrafts, personal security devices, coffee and furniture.

The participation of local companies in this exhibition allows them to be given regional visibility, since the event is not only focused on exporting to Panama, but also offers possibilities for the rest of Central and South America.

In addition, through the Comprehensive Export Program to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, five companies from Queretaro participated in fairs held in these destinations, where they exhibited products such as sauces, tomatoes, seasonings, dehydrated and frozen fruits.
