Querétaro industries close the year with partial stoppages

Querétaro, Qro. Companies industrial They close the year 20221 with various challenges, in some cases they face partial stoppages due to the logistics and supply crisis that persists globally.

The president of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Canacintra) local, Jorge Rivadeneyra Díaz, stressed that there are companies that have resorted to partial, not total, stoppages, due to delays in shipments of raw materials and the increase in price of certain products.

“Yes (there have been stoppages) for all this that I comment, there have been technical stoppages, fortunately not total, but only partial. We are waiting for the supply of materials and prices to stabilize so that we can now operate at the highest levels of industrial capacity, “he said.

Added to this situation is the increase in production costs that this year have ranged from 20 to 50%, increases that vary according to the type of industry and the inputs it demands.

He stressed that steel is one of the raw materials that has experienced a significant rise in its price.

“That was variable (the rise in production costs). Steel had very important increases, concrete, commodities, but they varied, there were increases of 20%, 50%, so they already depend on the industry ”, he commented.

According to the National Producer Price Index (INPP) for November, the prices of secondary activities, including oil, observed a monthly increase of 1.08%, due to the growth in mining of 2.23% in generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, water supply and gas through pipelines to the final consumer of 3.16% in construction of 0.40% and in manufacturing industries of 0.98 percent.

Automotive section

The auto parts industry It is one of the branches that also closes the year with scheduled stoppages, due to the escalating effect generated by the supply crisis, especially due to the shortage of semiconductors that has slowed the production of the assemblers and consequently impacts on the requirements of the auto parts.

One of the recent ones is the technical strike at the Audi assembly plant, in Puebla, which generated a subsequent brake for the state auto parts manufacturers that supply this company, according to information from the Querétaro Automotive Cluster.

The automotive industry continues with pressures derived from the shortage of semiconductors, the disruption in supply chains, the logistics crisis, among other factors that affect production projections.

In the first half of the year, the secondary activities of the entity report a growth of 15.9% compared to the same period last year, details the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE).
