Querétaro changes owners and looks for a buyer

Liga MX stipulated that the administration headed by Adolfo Ríos, Gabriel Solares, Greg Taylor and Manuel Velarde must leave the ownership of Gallos Blancos. The decision was made after concluding the extraordinary meeting of the Owners’ Assembly, which considered that a disaffiliation was not necessary.

The solution was: “to disqualify the current administration for five years from any management or administration activity related to any club affiliated with the FMF. The original holder of the affiliation rights will take over the administration of the team to guarantee its operation with the condition that it is put up for sale before the end of the year 2022. If it does not do so, Liga MX will assume the responsibility of assigning the rights. of affiliation no later than 2022”.

The original holder is Jorge Hank Rhon, owner of Grupo Caliente, who never left, since the various owners (in force until February 8) had not yet settled their debt with the businessman. His son Jorge Alberto Hank Inzunza, who is in charge of the soccer division, will have to take control of Querétaro, in addition to his position with the Xolos de Tijuana and the Dorados de Sinaloa of the Expansion League, a team they acquired in the middle of the 2013.

In June 2020, Grupo Caliente bought the Querétaro franchise from Grupo Ángeles; and a year later he sold it to the group of investors made up of Gabriel Solares and promoters, who have a shareholding in the Atlante club; However, that time they said in a statement that: “both clubs are independent of each other.” Today, they leave Querétaro, with a black chapter, after the tragedy due to violence in the Corregidora stadium. The debt is still on the table while a new owner is found.
