Querétaro, Qro. During November, Tabasco and Querétaro reported the highest unemployment rates in the country, with 5.75 and 5.70% of their Economically active population (PEA) respectively, according to the National Survey of Occupation and Jobs (Enoe).
In third place, Mexico City was located with a rate of 5.29% in the reference month, detail the results of the survey of the National Institute of Statistic and Geography (Inegi).
During November 15 entities registered an unemployment rate that exceeded the national one that was around 3.66% of the EAP: Tabasco (5.75%), Querétaro (5.70%), Mexico City (5.29%), State of Mexico (5.01%), Aguascalientes (4.93%), Guanajuato (4.58%), Coahuila de Zaragoza (4.01%), Quintana Roo (3.97%), Sonora (3.96%), Veracruz (3.95%), Tlaxcala (3.95%), Nuevo León (3.87% ), Chiapas (3.86%), San Luis Potosí (3.76%) and Durango (3.75%).
On the contrary, the lowest unemployment rates are found in Guerrero (1.14%), Oaxaca (1.91%), Michoacán (1.95%), Yucatán (2.08%) and Baja California (2.14%), in addition to the rest of the entities that were below the national rate.
Between November 2020 and November 2021, eight states show an increase in their unemployment rate: Nayarit (increased 1.61 points), Veracruz (1.09 points), Michoacán (0.74), Campeche (0.73), Chiapas (0.55), San Luis Potosí (0.41), Morelos (0.20) and Mexico City (0.10).
The rest of the entities, in the annual comparison, decreased their unemployment, the states with the most significant annual reduction were Quintana Roo with a reduction of 4.91 percentage points (from 8.88% to 3.97%) and Tabasco that reduced its rate 4.22 points (from 9.97 to 5.75%).
According to the survey by Inegi, the unemployed population considers that population that is without working, but that is looking for work.
Unemployment in Querétaro
During the month of October, the Querétaro unemployment rate It was the highest in the country, then it was 7.06% of the EAP, the national survey states.
Compared to November 2020, the state unemployment rate shows a decrease of 0.87 percentage points, since in that month it reached 6.57% unemployment. Compared to the immediately previous month, a decrease of 1.35 points is also observed, since in October the unemployment rate was 7.06% in the state.
Only in the third quarter of the year, the unemployed population in the state amounted to 58,782 people: 35.1% (20,661) are women and 64.9% (38,121) are men, according to records from the Enoe.
For the July-September period, the employed population of the state totaled 1 million 028,406 people: 39.4% (405,415) women and 60.6% (622,991) men.
Meanwhile, it accumulated an economically active population that amounted to 1 million 087,188 people: 39.2% (426,076) are women and 60.8% (661,112) are men.
