Kingston University said in a statement Monday that the signs were hung in front of several homes on Saturday and occupants of those homes were told the school would take action under the Student Code of Conduct.

Patrick Deane, the school’s principal and vice-chancellor, says there is no excuse for acts of sexual harassment or violence, or sexist behavior of any kind.

He says the signs that appeared Saturday “poison the quality” of the university environment by unwantedly sexualizing life on campus.

Deane says those signs also make the threat of sexual violence “hang over the heads of women and those vulnerable to harassment and assault in our community.”

Kingston police say they made multiple arrests during what they called an “aggravated nuisance party” over the weekend.

The party took place on homecoming weekend, despite the university opting out of holding traditional homecoming events in person for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
