PSC, ERC and Junts agree that Esther Giménez-Salinas is the new Trustee of Greuges and Rosa Romà presides over the CCMA

The names of Esther Giménez-Salinas and Rosa Romà stand out as the two most important in the agreement that PSC, ERC and JxCat have reached this Tuesday for the pending renewal in several of the main Catalan self-government bodies. Giménez-Salinas, professor of criminal law and former rector of the Ramon Llull University, will be the new Greuges trustee to replace Rafael Ribó, who had been in office for 17 years. Romà, whose name had already sounded in the attempt three years ago, will lead the powerful Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA), the governing body of TV-3 and Catalunya Ràdio.

The parties have successfully negotiated the negotiations within the deadline that had been set, before the end of the year. In addition to the Síndica de Greuges and the CCMA, the agreement also reaches the Consell de l’Audiovisual de Catalunya (CAC), which will be chaired by the puigdemontista Xevi Xirgo (director of ‘El Punt-Avui’) and the Catalan Authority for Protection of Dades , who will direct the convergent ‘ex-councilor’ Meritxell Borràs.

However, we will have to wait for the votes of the three formations in the Parliament to definitively confirm the pact. It will not be until the end of January or already in the month of February, according to sources of the negotiation, after the candidates pass the pertinent ‘hearing’ in commission.

At the CCMA, Romà, nominated by ERC, will be accompanied by Àngels Ponsa (proposed by JxCat) as vice-president, in addition to Lluís Garriga (PSC), Gemma Ribas (PSC), Lluís Noguera (ERC), Carme Figueras (PSC) and Pep Riera (JxCat).
