Provisional prison for 4 of the policemen arrested in Mérida for cooperating with drug trafficking

The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 3 of Mérida has decreed the provisional prison for four of the ten detainees who have been brought to justice in the framework of the operation against drug trafficking carried out these days in Extremadura.

The magistrate has agreed to the provisional detention, communicated and without bail for four of the five national police investigated in this cause. The rest of the people who have testified before the holder have been released with precautionary measures (withdrawal of passport and obligation to appear in court).

The cause, which is low summary secrecy, it is followed, among others, for crimes against public health, belonging to a criminal organization and omission of the duty to prosecute a crime, says the Extremadura Superior Court of Justice in a press release.
