Presidency launches tender for corporate internet connection

Telecommunications companies Axtel Y Uninet They asked questions about the process of contracting the corporate internet service of the Presidency of the Republic. The subsidiaries of the conglomerate Alfa and Telmex, respectively, seek to win a contract to provide two fiber optic links and one to 254 approved IP addresses to the office of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The Office of the Presidency of the Republic called for an invitation procedure for at least three people to hire the corporate internet service. The call was made public on December 17 and the agency will notify the ruling of the procedure on December 23, six days later. Whoever wins the contract to provide corporate internet service to the office of the Presidency It will have to provide a symmetric transmission medium of at least 1 GBps and terminal equipment, an access router equipment and a Virtual Private Network (VPN) generator equipment. The internet connection will have to be available 99.5% of the time in a month and should register a maximum latency of 75 milliseconds.

The call is part of the framework contract for the provision of the internet service of June 2020, which was modified in October 2021. The procedure for inviting at least three people is a form of government procurement, together with the direct award and the public bidding, which are contemplated in the Mexican regulation.

Uninet, for his part, he asked the Presidency if it was correct to consider that since the request is the provision of a single corporate internet link in the communications SITE of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, the redundancy tests of the call are not applied. The presidency clarified to Uninet that the service must be delivered in two places: the SAT offices, on Avenida Hidalgo, and the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, on Avenida Constituyentes, in front of the Los Pinos complex, and that it currently appears as Permanently Closed on Google Maps.
