Police publishes image of vehicle involved in hit and run in Toronto – Toronto | The Canadian News

Toronto police released a picture Saturday of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in downtown Toronto on Friday night.

According to a statement released by the service, police were called to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the Wellington Street West and University Avenue area shortly after 7 p.m.

Investigators said the driver made a left onto University Avenue heading south when he struck a 36-year-old woman. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver did not remain at the scene. The vehicle was last seen heading south on University Avenue.

The vehicle is described as a black or dark blue four-door SUV.

Investigators from the traffic services were called in to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.
