Police Peel Charged With Assault After Alleged Off Duty Incident In Brampton – Toronto | The Canadian News

Peel Regional Police say one of their officers has been charged in connection with an off-duty incident in Brampton.

Police said in a statement Wednesday that the Peel Police Office of Internal Affairs charged a five-year-old service member with various crimes.

Const. Pawan Sandhu was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with one count of assault, battery causing bodily harm and making threats.

A hearing date has been set for January 10.

No information was released about the alleged incident.

Sandhu has been suspended with pay in accordance with the provisions of the Police Services Law, according to the statement.
