Police find an injured driver in the woods after an accident in Innisfil, Ontario. – Barrie | The Canadian News

 

South Simcoe police found an injured woman in a wooded area after a multi-vehicle accident occurred on Sideroad 10, south of Highway 89, in Innisfil Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a Nissan Versa traveling north on Sideroad 10 collided with a Ford cargo van in front of it before crossing into southbound traffic.

The vehicle then collided head-on with a Volkswagon Jetta before a southbound Honda CRV struck the rear of the Jetta and entered the ditch.

After the accident, witnesses told police that the driver got out of his car and ran into the woods.

Witnesses provided a description of the woman and said she was injured. She was also the sole occupant of her vehicle.

Police called the K9 unit for help and a perimeter was set up.

Police dogs searched the forest and found the woman hiding under thick foliage a short time later.

The woman did not respond and had to be led out of the forest by police, firefighters and paramedics.

They sent her to a local hospital. Two people from the Jetta were also taken to the hospital.

All injuries are not life threatening.
