The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in connection with at least 18 break-ins and robberies at businesses between April and May.

City wants to hear from residents impacted by large outdoor events in Calgary – Calgary | Canadian

Police say affected businesses include restaurants, bike shops, cannabis dispensaries and liquor stores, among others. The suspect would force his way into a business by breaking windows and glass doors, or prying doors open, according to a CPS news release.

Once inside, he would target anything that could be sold (electronics, cannabis, cash, bikes, etc.).

Police estimate the value of the stolen property at approximately $150,000 total. They also estimate more than $40,000 in damage to businesses.

Devon White, 28, faces 35 criminal charges related to the break-ins. He was in custody until his next court date on July 13.

Police investigate 30 additional break-ins

Calgary police are also investigating 30 other break-ins that occurred between May and July.

One woman and two men are wanted in connection with the incidents, according to a CPS news release.

Liquor stores, a coffee shop and bakery, bike shops, pharmacies, gas stations and cannabis stores were targeted by the suspects. Police believe they were acting together while carrying out the raids.

CPS estimates the value of the stolen property to be about $93,700, with another $101,000 in damage.

In all 30 cases, the raids were carried out outside of business hours, police said, when businesses were closed.

“All it takes is one person who disregards business owners who work hard to cause significant damage to businesses and affect the sense of safety in our communities,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Auger said in a statement Thursday.

Shaun Edmond Paul Karambowich, 33, Jasmine Holly Rusk, 31, and James Taylor Stuart, 35, are wanted on 20 commercial criminal trespass warrants.

Karambowich is described as being five feet five inches tall and 148 pounds with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes.

Rusk is described as being five feet one inch tall and 123 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Stuart is described as five feet seven inches tall and 152 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
