Peterborough County OPP Arrests 2 Ottawa Teenagers Following Stolen Vehicle Crash in Havelock | The Canadian News

Two Ottawa teens face multiple charges following a reported stolen vehicle accident in Peterborough County Thursday morning.

According to the Peterborough County OPP, around 9 a.m. officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on Cole Road, north of the Havelock village in Havelock-Belmont Methuen Township, 50 kilometers east of Peterborough.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle rolled over after the driver lost control in a turn. Investigators determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a residence in Northumberland County.

Ladislav Geci, 18, and a 16-year-old passenger, both from Ottawa, were arrested and each charged with theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of felony property over $ 5,000.

Geci was also charged with three counts of operating while prohibited and two counts of breach of sentence.

They were released and are scheduled to appear in court in Peterborough on February 14.

Under the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act, the name of the 16-year-old defendant cannot be released.
