Politics can be one of the main reasons why a date can end in failure in the restaurant of ‘First Dates’. This is the case of Marga, a 65-year-old retiree, who came to the restaurant confessing to Carlos Sobera that she really liked politics: “I am very easy to conquer and very difficult to maintain“.
Moments later, Marga found out that she was going to meet Gregorio, a 73-year-old retiree from Madrid, who came to the restaurant explaining that he wanted to find a woman who, above all, understands him: “That she be nice and with whom I don’t have so many arguments with those that exist today. To find such a person is very complicated”.
Once they sat down at the table that the restaurant reserved for them, the truth is that the date began to go downhill when they started talking about politics. Gregorio began this decline of the evening by pointing out that he would like Spain to resemble Switzerland, the country in which he had worked: “There we have 2% unemployment and here more than 20%“.
“For the first time in Spain we have a president who speaks perfect English and does not say nonsense and barbarity like a short man…”Marga affirmed throughout the dinner, referring to José María Aznar, former president of the Government between 1996 and 2004. “I do not agree with that gentleman and with the one with the ponytail, less yet”, Gregorio replied, receiving a good zasca from Marga: “I love it, if it were my son… I love the man with the ponytail, whose name is Pablo Iglesias”.

Marga also answered Gregorio ironically after the designer said that what he wanted was for “Spain to go perfectly”: “And what I want is to be Claudia Schiffer, but I’ve tried and it hasn’t been possible, do you understand? things are as they are, we have to mold 47 million very diverse Spaniards”.
“Has culture but spoils it with character. It is not because he is from the left or from the right. No, it is because she is very straight, a little bit dictatorial” expressed Gregorio about Marga, who was not shy about talking about him before either of them wanted a second date in ‘The Final Decision’: “I like politics with brains, intelligence and various interlocutors” .
