A woman who was injured in a hit and run while walking down a residential street in East London, Ontario, died of her injuries.

London police said Sunday that his name would not be released at the request of his family.

Last week, police reported that a man and a woman were walking down Spruce Street, which runs between Wavell and Dundas streets, east of Kiwanis Park, when they were both hit by a vehicle at around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday the 10th. of November.

Police say the vehicle fled the area and contacted emergency services.

At the time, police described the suspect vehicle as a newer-style silver sedan that may have passenger-side mirror and car body damage.

Witnesses reported that the suspect vehicle was last seen heading south on Spruce Street toward Wavell Street, police added.
