Participatory Budget for mayors of CDMX has 1,600 million pesos

For this year, the 16 municipalities of Mexico City have a Participatory budget for more than 1,600 million pesos, with the resources it seeks to help improve the environment of the colonies, neighborhoods and original towns, informed the Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM).

According to the IECM, the more than 1,600 million pesos correspond to 3.75% of the total budget that the mayors will exercise this year, precisely, of these resources, 50% will be distributed proportionally among all the territorial units and the other half will be established by the Secretariat of Administration and Finance of the Government of Mexico City (according to the criteria of poverty rate, crime incidence, number of inhabitants and floating population).

Regarding the projects that are going to be carried out to improve the demarcations, the institute specified that these are the ones that will be the winners during the 2022 Participatory Budget Consultation.

“It is important that the neighbors of the different territorial units know the amounts that correspond to their neighborhoods, neighborhoods and original towns, by virtue of the fact that the viability of the projects that they register and promote must be technical and financial.”

On how the resources are distributed, the IECM announced that for the Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office the amounts vary from 285,000 to 2 million pesos, corresponding to the towns of Santa Rosa Xochiac and San Bartolo Ameyalco.
