Looking for some fall family fun or maybe a spooky night out?

The John R. Park Homestead Conservation Area welcomes visitors to the historic Park Family Farm this fall for a host of new ways to enjoy the farm, with activities ranging from crafts for kids and families to evening activities designed for adults. .

Fall is a wonderful time to experience the farm.said Kris Ives, curator of John R. Park Homestead. “The leaves are changing color, the heritage garden and orchard are ready to be harvested, and the hands-on fall programming really takes people back in time to experience elements of our local history.”

The farm will offer three fall programs on various different dates. They range from Hands-On in Homestead, aimed at ages 7 and up to try their hands at corn husk crafts; Harvest Moon, an evening candlelight farm tour with cider and violin music for families; and Tragic Tales and Pioneer Perils, a costumed and guided tour for adults who listen to dark tales from the lives of pioneers.

Events are available on select dates from October 3 to October 22. COVID-19 safety protocols are in effect – each event takes place primarily outdoors with space for social distancing. Attendees will be asked to usea mask, and you should dress for the weather, including proper walking shoes.
