Panasonic Automotive Systems for work in Reynosa due to dispute between unions for the leadership of the workers

Company operations panasonic Automotive Systems of Mexico located in the city of ReynosaTamaulipas, were completely paralyzed this Thursday, after a dispute between two labor organizations interested in taking over the union leadership of the workers of that company.

The stoppage of work occurred after learning that the Autonomous Industrial Union of Maquiladora Operators in General of the Mexican Republic (SIAMARM)headed by union leader Alberto Lara Bazaldúa, went ahead to sign a collective agreement with the company.

The other union organization interested in representing the more than 1,800 workers in this company, the Independent National Union of Workers of Industries and Services Movement 20/32 (SNITIS)in turn denounced the existence of a collective contract signed “illegally” on March 22 in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, and with labor instances that are no longer responsible for carrying out this type of procedure, since it is the responsibility of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration.

Susana Prieto Terrazas, deputy for Morena, reported that as a result of these events, a complaint is being prepared for violations of the T-MEC, since freedom of association is not allowed as established in the Federal Labor Law and in Chapter 23 itself. of that trade agreement with the United States and Canada.

The workers have been on intermittent strikes for three days and 50 workers have been fired, but this Thursday the work stoppage lasted all day.
