Overwatch 2 beta has a new scoreboard that shows everyone’s K/D stats

The surveillance 2 PVP beta is out now (in case you haven’t heard) and there’s a big difference that it wasn’t in the alpha. There is a new scoreboard that shows key stats for all players.

MORE FROM FORBESOverwatch 2 PVP beta is now live, here’s how you can get in

Shows eliminations, assists and deaths of all players, as well as their damage and healing. You will be able to see your teammates/ultimate charge level via radial gauges, but the scoreboard does not show ultimate percentages.

Hero-based stats (the ones you see in the bottom right of your screen on Supervision) will only be visible to you. So for Roadhog, that includes things like hook accuracy, number of enemies hooked, and Whole Hog kills.

The Medal and Fire systems are gone. Blizzard says that the Fire system could return at some point, “as it can provide excitement and positive feedback on amazing plays made by you or your teammates.”

The target time is also not displayed on the new scoreboard. That’s an odd choice given that it’s arguably the most important stat. You can have a K/D ratio of 24-2, but if your team doesn’t touch the target, you will lose.

I still do not fully agree with this move. I like that Supervision it was different from other games in that it only showed players their personal stats. I can’t deny that the game has some toxic players, but making K/D and similar details private to each player would have helped reduce criticism and criticism among players.

I don’t think this fully captures the nuances of some heroes’ hits either. While Baptiste’s teammates can criticize them for not healing enough, they won’t be able to see how many times he’s saved them with an Immortality Field, for example. I’m also not sure how well it will account for players switching between heroes.

That said, this change brings surveillance 2 online with other first person shooter games. Perhaps it will make players take on more individual responsibility and give everyone in a game a clearer idea of each person’s impact. Blizzard notes that, as with everything else in the beta, the new marker is a work in progress and is seeking feedback on it.

If you haven’t received an invite to the beta yet, don’t worry! You still have the opportunity to participate. There is a Twitch Drops campaign tomorrow, April 27.
