OPP Makes 4 Drunk Driving Arrests in Town of Kawartha Lakes Over Christmas Break – Peterborough | The Canadian News

The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is reporting four drunk driving arrests to date during the holiday season as of Thursday afternoon.

In each of the four incidents, no injuries were reported and the drivers were criminally charged, their driver’s licenses were suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.

The latest incident occurred early Thursday morning when shortly after midnight, officers responded to a call from a bystander who reported a vehicle in the ditch along County Line Road in the former Fenelon Township.

Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle was damaged.

Ian Fraser, 33, of the city of Kawartha Lakes, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (blood alcohol concentration of 80 or higher).

He was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Lindsay on January 13.

At around 11:30 a.m. on December 23, officers responded to multiple calls from a suspected drunk driver traveling on County Road 121 Trent Lakes. Officers soon located the suspicious vehicle and determined that the driver was damaged.

Jeanette Peters, 59, of Kinmount, Ontario, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (alcohol and drugs), driving a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor, and failing or refusing to comply with a lawsuit.

She was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Lindsay on January 20.

At around 7 p.m. on December 22, OPP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch along Monk Road in the former Somerville Township. The driver was determined to be disabled, police said.

Jamie Kent, 45, of Trent Lakes, Ontario, was arrested and charged with two counts of drunk driving (alcohol and drugs and blood alcohol concentration over 80).

The defendant was released and is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on January 13.

At around 10 p.m. on December 19, officers responded to a collision involving a pick-up truck that crashed into a hydraulic post along Cottage Road in the former Mariposa Township.

Stuart Dell, 57, of Little Britain in the town of Kawartha Lakes, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (blood alcohol concentration of 80 or more).
He was released from prison and is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on January 13, 2022.
