OPP arrests Marmora man in connection with multiple robberies in Tecumseh and Lakeshore

A man from Marmora, an Ontario township 500 kilometers away from Essex County, has been arrested in connection with a series of trespassing offences.

The Essex County OPP Street Crimes Unit arrested the individual on January 9 following the investigation of multiple incidents at businesses in Tecumseh and Lakeshore.

Police said the investigation began on December 10, at which point OPP officers saw the suspect.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, striking an OPP patrol car in the process.

Nobody was hurt.

The investigation continued and the suspect was identified, located and eventually arrested.

Cory Ronald Crockatt, 40, of Marmora, faces a list of charges including: three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, mischief involving destruction or damage to property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and assault on a peace officer with a weapon.

As of Tuesday, the accused remained in custody. He has been scheduled for a court appearance in Windsor.
