Ontario Reports 654 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 More Deaths | The Canadian News

Ontario reported 654 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total case count in the province to 591,331. Two more deaths were recorded on Saturday, bringing the death toll in the province to 9,788.

This is the first time in seven days where cases above 600 have been reported. The seven-day average has decreased and now stands at 577.

Of the 654 reported cases, 464 were among those who were not fully vaccinated or had an unknown vaccination status. 190 of these cases were reported among people who were fully vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health reports that 258 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19. 153 people are now in intensive care units.
