TORONTO – Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford invited the Prime Minister to a summit on housing affordability.
Ford made the request in a letter to Justin Trudeau on Friday, saying he needs help from the federal government to deal with rising home ownership prices.
The meeting with Ford, Municipal Affairs Minister Steve Clark and the mayors and regional presidents of the big cities is scheduled for December 16.

Ford says his goal for the summit is to work on solutions to address the housing affordability “crisis” so that more families can become homeowners.
In addition to the summit, Ontario’s progressive conservative government has said it is launching a task force on housing affordability that will also study the issue.
A Trudeau spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
