The city of Guelph says the Ontario Land Court has dismissed an appeal filed against its new district boundaries that were approved by the city council earlier this year.
The decision means that new district boundaries will be in place by the 2022 municipal elections.

The new boundaries keep Guelph in six districts, but adjust the shape and size to redistribute the population more evenly while taking future growth into account, the city said in a statement.
The city council approved the new rooms in June, but a resident appealed that decision to the provincial court.
The appeal argued that the new districts divided up distinct neighborhoods and that the population by district could be better distributed, especially in the growing extreme south.
The city acknowledged that no elaborate model would be perfect, but that the consultants they hired considered population, expected growth, communities of interest, and natural boundaries.
