Only in 0.15% of schools have Covid-19 infections been registered: López-Gatell

The Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, indicated this Tuesday that only 0.15% of the schools that have reopened nationwide have been affected by Covid-19 contagions.

Almost all the cases that have been detected in minors, he said, have been mild, “no one has had a major disease,” he said.

He indicated that the percentage of representation of Covid-19 cases in the child and youth population is 10 percent.

For its part, the Secretary of Public Education, Delfina Gomez Alvarez, indicated that at the national level 169,864 schools have reopened, with which 18 million 290,948 students and one million 508,224 education workers have returned to the classrooms.

National pandemic

Undersecretary Hugo López-Gatell highlighted that at the national level we have had three consecutive months of reduction in pandemic indicators. He said that only 0.7% of cases are active.

He stressed that currently only some of the municipalities in the northern part of the state of Puebla remain to be concluded, which will be held this Tuesday, and the municipality of the State of Mexico, Ecatepec, will conclude tomorrow.
