One teen dead, two others injured after vehicle rolled over near Islay

A teenager is dead and two others are injured after a rural Alberta road collision on Wednesday night.

Just after 8 pm, on May 4, Vermilion RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had rolled over on Township Road 512 near the hamlet of Islay, Alta., about 200 km east of Edmonton, Mounties said in a Monday news release.

Officers found one passenger, a 15-year-old Vermilion resident, dead at the scene, as well as two others, a 17-year-old resident of Two Hills County and a 15-year-old resident of Vermilion, both of whom were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Mounties said officers remained on the scene for several hours and conducted an investigation with an RCMP collision analyst.

RCMP are continuing their investigation and have not made any arrests.
