One of every three SMEs that participate in the Business Meeting of Expo Manufactura, carry out operations: Caintra

Monterey, NL. The Chamber of Transformation Industry of Nuevo León (Cainthra), began to measure from 2021 the impact generated by the Business Meeting, which takes place at Expo Manufactura; As a result, 1 out of every 3 participating SMEs managed to do business with leading companies, and this year it is estimated to achieve a spill of 200 million pesos, said Jesús Francisco López Molina, director of Institutional Relations of the agency.

“The first step for suppliers is to participate in the Business Meeting. What makes different those who achieve an average sale of 500,000 pesos, in a period of six months to a year and a half, is that they actively follow up on the appointment of business they had, sending updates, tests, and having a marketing area to prepare the presentation of the product”, he emphasized.

Caintra is consolidating business appointments in this 26th edition of Expo Manufactura to be held from February 15 to 17 at Cintermex, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, with companies such as Questum, from Grupo Quimmco and Clarios. To date, 100 appointments have been confirmed; The objective is that SMEs can have an effective link so that they can grow, the manager stressed.

For the organization it is important to participate in these meetings because the manufacturing sector has been very resilient to the Covid-19 pandemic, proof of this is that in 2020 it generated 20,000 jobs; last year it created more than 47,500 and this year the closing expectation is to generate 22,000 new places in Nuevo León.

Speedy recovery

The director of Institutional Relations of Caintra assured that the manufacturing sector is in clear recovery, because it has a very robust ecosystem in which civil society, chambers, academia, and the state government participate, in addition to the fact that the dual training model has been promoted. .

In context, he mentioned that the pandemic was a strong and unexpected blow to the industry, which has already been overcome. In the second quarter of 2020, in the state there was a drop of almost -20%, “we had not seen such an impact, but in the third quarter it grew 21%, as manufacturing we recovered very quickly,” López deepened.

According to data from the Ministry of Economy state, in 2020 75% of the drop in exports was due to the automotive sector, in 2021 there was a recovery to the pre-pandemic level, and in the last 12 months the value of exports was 44.7 billion dollars.

Transportation equipment and metal products were the ones that boosted exports the most in 2021, indicates the local Ministry of Economy.

Another factor that has stimulated a faster recovery of manufacturing in the entity, and in other states, is that they are anchored to the export sector, “in a few months we have 80% of GDP linked to the export sector,” said the manager .

For example, Nuevo León manufactures two out of every three buses in all of Mexico and produces one out of every three cargo trucks in the country, much of the production, jobs and spills are in the state, because although it is a company that exports, It has dozens of supplier SMEs, he deepened.
