One man killed, another wounded in Scarborough shooting

Gunfire erupted in a Scarborough parking lot killing one man and wounding another early Saturday.

Toronto Police say officers responded to the deadly shooting near Morningside Ave. and Sheppard Ave. E. around 3 am and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.

A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital where he died becoming the city’s 24th murder victim of the year.

The dead man’s name was not immediately released.

Investigators, who were seen pouring over a white Mercedes with blood stains on the doors Saturday morning, said they are looking for one shooter but did not have a description available.

“They are looking at potentially one suspect,” Const. Laura Brabant said. “But we’re looking at video surveillance and speaking to witnesses to get a description.”
