Tuesday night, an accident with a car and a snow plow left a man dead and two others seriously injured.

Winnipeg police say they believe the driver – a man in his 30s – was speeding on the Disraeli bridge in an attempt to overtake the snow plow when he lost control of the car.

Paramedics from Winnipeg removed him from the car that crashed, but he was already dead.

Officials say two passengers in the vehicle – a woman in her twenties and a teenager – were rushed to hospital.

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries and has yet to be released.

The teenager, who was sitting in the back of the car at the time of the collision, was apparently in a stable condition.

Police did not disclose the identities of any of the people involved in the crash.
