Officialism, open to discuss electricity reform; call for serenity after PEF

Morena’s coordinator in the Chamber of Deputies, Ignacio Mier, called on opposition legislators to calm down after the approval of the Federation Expenditure Budget (PEF) 2022, to open up to listen to the arguments in favor of the electricity reform presented by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and not see the issue in a sectarian way.

“What happened in the framework of the discussion of the debate and the comments, are always in the heat of what is being lived at that moment, the adrenaline and all that. So, I believe that it has already happened, we have to calm down, they say in Mochis, Sinaloa, that there is no broth that does not cool down, we have to wait for it to cool down and start working on it, ”said the legislator when leaving a meeting with the President López Obrador in the National Palace.

The Morenoist leader did not rule out starting a dialogue with the PRI to get the reform out.

“The PRI has to decide if it is going to follow Gómez Morín or the PRI is going to follow Lázaro Cárdenas. The PRI will follow Diego Fernández de Cevallos, Calderón, Fox, who were the first to give the permits to start handing over the electricity industry to the private sector or if they follow the revolutionary principles that inspired them as a party. I believe that more than negotiating, we are open to discuss it, what is best for Mexico, “he said.

Regarding the other opposition parties, such as the PAN and PRD, Ignacio Mier asserted that he has very good communication with his parliamentary coordinators, for which he has told them to open up to hear about the changes in the matter, “that they do not see it as sectarian manner or according to the interests of a political party ”.

Yesterday, deputies from the Together We Make History coalition (Morena, PT and PVEM) met with President López Obrador, who thanked them for the approval of the Federation’s Expenditure Budget for fiscal year 2022.

At the meeting, Ignacio Mier maintained the commitment to move forward with the approval of the electricity reform, the electoral policy and the reform that guarantees that the National Guard is sectorized to the Army.
